Day 1

Marrakech – Zaouiat Oulmzi (Aït Bouguemez)

Departure from Marrakech to the stunning Aït Bouguemez Valley. Upon arrival at Zaouiat Oulmzi (2,000 m), check in at the guesthouse. Enjoy a traditional mint tea on a terrace overlooking walnut and apple orchards, typical of the valley. Overnight: Guesthouse

Day 2

Day 2: Zaouiat Oulmzi – Lake Izoughar (2,600 m)

A gentle hike (~5 hours) through shepherd trails and past grazing flocks. The valley views are spectacular. In the afternoon, reach the temporary Lake Izoughar, formed after a large landslide. Camp overnight in tents. Ascent: 800 m Descent: 200 m

Day 3

Day 3: Lake Izoughar – Tizi n’Tighboula Pass (3,000 m)

Easy hiking (~6 hours) across high Atlas pastures. Encounter goats, sheep, and occasionally dromedaries. Wheat and barley fields create a striking contrast with the rugged mountains. Camp overnight at Tizi n’Tighboula. Ascent: 700 m Descent: 400 m

Day 4

Day 4: Tizi n’Tighboula – Taghia (1,900 m)

A more challenging 6-hour hike with breathtaking panoramic views of the Taghia Valley. Descend gradually to the charming village of Taghia, nestled at the foot of towering cliffs. Ascent: 280 m Descent: 1,200 m Overnight: Guesthouse

Day 5

Day 5: Exploring Berber Mountain Passes

4-hour hike into the mountains to discover ancient trails carved by Berber shepherds. The ascent to the base of Mount Aoujdad offers dizzying views of the limestone cliffs. Return to the guesthouse for the night. Ascent: 400 m Descent: 100 m
